Multiple awards winner Rommel Ribeiro is a Brazilian singer-songwriter who stands-out for his talent and versatility. Mixing elements of popular Brazilian music with Afro-Reggae, Funk and Jazz, Rommel breathes and transpires authentic and upbeat music with compositions in Portuguese, French, Spanish and English. The prizes Rommel won include: in 2010-2011 the very first “Diversity Award” by the Arts Council of Montreal and “Great Revelation” by Festival Nuits d’Afrique, in 2012-2013 the “Revelation on World Music” by CBC/Radio Canada; and in 2019, in a contest organized by Vision Diversity, the prize “Coup de Coeur – MUZ” given by La Fabrique Culturelle de Télé-Québec, Le Festival Mondokarnaval, Festival des traditions du Monde de Sherbrooke and Mondial Montréal.
